One last Christmas pic..maybe?

This is the Christmas day outfit we WANTED to take pics of Abby in but just didn't so this is a day or two later.  She LOVES to play with the boxes, ribbons, and bows under the tree.  You can see there are presents under the tree that we are waiting to open when Gramma an Grampa move here.  Hope they are still wrapped at that time but Abby might have other plans

Fun in a basket

We put the laundry basket on the floor and Abby got in the basket and played in it for some time.  She really seemed to like it!  I am learning that everyday items around the house are becoming her favorite "toys" rather than the actual toys we purchase for her. 

What a big girl!

 

Took this pic for my friend (who purchased the outfit) and was struck by how big she looks!  She's only 6 months but is growing up so fast.  People say "they grow up so fast" and man!  I believe them!  She's so fun right now.  She's social and interacts with us like she's a little person.  Love her!!!

Abby and Dakota

Abby and Dakota have several outfits that are the same.  Anna and I figured that if they are going to be best friends then they need twin outfits.  OK actually, whenever one of us would get a duplicate outfit at a shower or as a gift we would pass it onto the other.  This is one of the outfits they both have so we thought it would be cute to take pics of them.  I will be honest...I don't think Abby and Dakota have EVER been together and we did NOT take a bunch of pics of them.  They are just so cute together and how fun will it be to have all these pics of them over the years as they get older.

Too cool 2

While visiting the bus barn the "Godfather" put his glasses on Abby.  She wasn't sure what to think but she kept them on.  The "Godfather" took so many pics that day!  Part of it was because he has a new camera phone but part of it is he really likes Abby :)

Up on her hands and knees

Well, Abby is up on her hands and knees a LOT but she just can't get anywhere.  It's so cute to see her get up on her hands and knees and we watch her like this is it!  This is the time she will crawl...then she just lowers herself back down on her tummy.  It's coming though, we can feel it!  She's so close to crawling! 

First tooth!!!!!!!!!!!!

Donnie told me Monday that he Abby had a tooth and I did not believe him!  Well, there it is today, poking through her gums!  Our baby's first tooth! :)

Playing on the floor

Abby can play on the floor for quite some time.  She is so close to crawling so we like to let her practice by playing on the floor. 

Our house is decorated!

I feel like we were the last in town to decorate our house but it's done now!  OK, not really....the decor is out, the tree is up and lit, although there are no ornaments yet.  We just ran out of time tonight.  Abby was sooooo interested in the lights.  She loved looking at them.  We did NOT let her play with lights as this pic suggests, we just did it for the photo.

Abby and Santa!

Santa was visiting the good boys and girls at Bethany Elem. School today so we went and sat on Santa's lap.  The Mellish family took pics of their kids with Santa each year and then pulled them out with the decorations.  I thought that was a great tradition.  Abby was great!  She did not cry of anything!  She just sat on his lap like a big girl! 

Walk with Mommy

Abby and I went on a walk today.  I never realized how bumpy and rough the streets around our neighborhood were.  To my surprise this sweet little girl slept most of the walk.  I thought it would be a sleeping pic for the blog today but she woke up just as we reached the porch.  She acts like she really enjoys walks.  She looks around at the trees and houses.

A friend has her Christmas tree up, come to think of it doesn't everyone but me?  Anyway, I couldn't resist taking a few Christmasy pics of Abby.  I thin this one is cute because she has a look on her face like any kid would when they see their presents under the tree!  So bottom line...I cheated and took Christmas pics in front of someone else's tree! 

Playing with friends

We just can't help it!  When we have these three together we HAVE TO take tons of pics of them!  It's always hilarious to see the pics and the expressions on each of their faces!  We are lucky to catch a good pic with all of them looking and making some funny face.  This is their Christmas pic.

Aunt Cindy from Seattle

This is Aunt Cindy...Nicky's sister from Seattle.  We don't get to see her very often because she lives so far away but she came to meet Abby.  We spent a couple days together and it was great to see her with Abby.  Who knows when he next time will be when she will be in OKC.  It's actually MUCH more likely now that mom and John are moving here to OKC.  Now, when my sister comes to visit my mom it will be here in Oklahoma not Texas and I will get to see her too!

Chesapeake lights

My sister is in town from Seattle so we took her to the Chesapeake lights.  Of course we had to take pics with Abby but only a few because it was cold!  If you haven't been to see those beautifully lit trees at 63 and Western...make it a point to go this Christmas!  Take a camera too!

First time to sit in a restaurant high chair

Look who is sitting in one of those nasty fast food restaurant high chairs??? Yep!  Abby!  We did thoroughly clean it with a wet wipe first!  She did a great job sitting in it.  We buckled her in and she sat and played while we ate our happy meals.  Note...we did not give her fries, just the fry bag that was not greasy or salty.  She loves crunchy crinkly paper.

Pulling on ear=teething?

We noticed Abby pulling on her ears a lot while in Texas for Thanksgiving.  We know it could be an ear infection but Abby is not acting like she is in any pain and aren't those painful?  Captured this pic of Abby with her uncle Robert and she was pulling on her ear in this pic. 

Happy Thanksgiving!

Abby had sweet potatoes (not the grown up kind the baby food kind) on Thanksgiving.  She made and awful face the first few bites but seemed to like it.  We teased her with the big turkey leg and she was reaching for it!  Of course this may seem mean but she reaches for EVERYTHING!  Happy Thanksgiving everyone from Abby!

Ducky Bath

Taking Abby's bathtub on our trip to west Texas was not an option.  We had limited space and could not fit the hard plastic tub in this time so we bought this ducky blow up tub.  Abby seemed to like it.  It's a bit more compact than the other tub.  Donnie loves that if you squeeze the duck bill it quacks!  LOL!

Too cool

So, Abby always has sun in her eyes when we are in the car.  I saw these adorable sunglasses at Target today and could not resist.  I was worried she would not keep them on and there was no way to try them on at the store.  Fortunately, she DID like them...for a short time.  How stinkin' cute is this???

First book read to Abby

After having lunch with our education professors, Ryan decided to be the first to read to Abby.  We came home and pulled out her board books and he read to her.  It was precious!  So sweet that her first book read to her was done by her unclr Ryan.

I warned Ryan that she WOULD spit up on him at some point during his visit.  It did not happen day one so I guess he was confident.  Today moments after picture number 1 was taken, she spit up all over him-picture number 2.  It was VERY funny to Donnie and I but not so much for Ryan.  LOL!

We were on our way to spend a week with Ryan in LA when we got the call about Abby.  This is his first time to meet her.  So glad he is here and we can kind of finish our time we planed together!

Shot day

Moments after Abby got her shots.  She was a trooper.  She DID cry but mommy didn't!  Once the sticking was done she perked right up.  Is it sad that looking in the mirror made her get over her sadness faster?  Daddy was looking in the mirror too but just as I snapped this pic, the doctor walked in.

Wow!  We are really in for it when she's a teen if this is what we are getting at 4 months!

Little Bunny

We need to change Abby out of the outfit she was wearing because it had been drooled and spit up on too many times.  It was too early to put Abby in her pjs so we put her in this bunny robe.  OMG!  So cute!  Not sure if you can see the bunny ears but they adorable!  She is adorable!
